Stephanie Gregerson the president of On My Way Home Rescue reassured me that they were not going to keep my dogs. After hours of convincing me I finally decided that I would trust her.
On My Way Home Rescue's adoption process
Consumers want to see how a business took care of business. No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter. My Way Home Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit, comprised 100% of volunteers.
Some dogs also receive a dental cleaning when medically recommended. Our goal is to find the best and most appropriate home for each individual dog. When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes. We are a rescue focusing on dachshunds, dachshund mixes, and other small dogs that are in the shelters or surrendered by their owners.
Comprehensive Adoption Programs
Instead, we focus upon how to best move forward to provide the animal with the best possible life. In addition, we help pet owners and other non-profit organizations in need of financial support get necessary and affordable services for animals in need. They are each placed into an appropriate foster home that has been carefully vetted by our team. On My Way Home Rescue is a 501 non-profit organization located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The emergency hospital helped Mercury through his triage stage in order to keep him alive but they had exhausted their options about a week after he was rescued. They encouraged us to euthanize Mercury but when we spent time with him alone, he looked me in the eyes again and it was clear that he had the desire to live. He wasn't in any pain and needed love, nutrition, and further medical care. I was willing to try anything for him and decided that if he did die, it would be in a home with loving arms around him instead of in a hospital setting. Importantly, our rescue animals remain our focus at all times.
We promote that adoption of a rescue animal is a gift that you give to yourself more than you give to the animal. I originally bought my dog from this same non profit 6 years earlier for over $300. Two days after I let them care for my dogs, I contacted Stephanie, who informed me that she had given Polly to another non profit and she wasn't giving me Bentley back. They are going to make another $300 off each dog they re-home. If they truelly cared about these dogs, they would charge what the dog pound charges, which is $50 I believe. And they would inform people that the dog they were buying had siezures, which they did not do when we bought Polly.
The goal is ALWAYS what is best for the animal but with consideration and respect for the humans as well. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life. Build relationships with key people who manage and lead nonprofit organizations with GuideStar Pro. We started this non-profit because the need is plain to see. Our goal is to make a difference by rescuing dogs from over-crowded shelters, fostering them in our homes, and finding them great forever homes. Every life that we've saved is infinitely important and we've highlighted a few of our rescue animals who passed away but will never be forgotten.
